US: Court rules that recordings of Nogales Mayor are public record
Publicado el Oct 26, 2010

In a hearing on October 25 in the case of Nogales Mayor Octavio Garcia Von Borstel and his father, the court ruled that recordings of the Nogales Mayor are considered public record.

Both men are facing numerous federal felony charges including bribery, fraud and money laundering.

Lawyers for the two men tried to convince a judge to order the State Attorney General's Office to stop releasing evidence to the media.

Recently, the Nogales International released audio tapes of a man who sounds like the mayor making deals with a contractor.

The judge denied the request.
